Precision 90

The top end sparkle out of these pickups is phenomenal! The mids are present and the bottom end is robust, as a Precision should be; but as mentioned in another review, the typically sort of "clanky, clippy" top end of the individual pole magnets is transformed into a sparkly, sizzling top that mixes so very well with the rest of the voices emitted from the pickup. I've installed this into a modded Deluxe (V, V, T, T, tone bypass) and it sings in any combination. I've also the ability to run this pickup in Series or Parallel and it sounds delightful alone with the tone rolled back and adds a nice grit with the noiseless J added in. Great work, Lollar and I hope more players find this pickup!

Just epic. Plenty of mid range, not overly bright, great low end. ...I record a lot too. There’s plenty of info there, I can get this to sit in my mixes super easy in pretty much any genre. I really appreciate how nothing sounds “out of control.” Sometimes when you record bass, the G string comes off as way too aggressive and makes you sound like you need to work on your finger control. Or when you dig in, the rattle of the strings against the frets make it sound like there’s rocks in the bass or something... you get that weird overbearing clicking sound throughout (especially after compression). Not with these! Everything records really clean and even. I can get aggressive they just handle me with out giving me any of the typical problems. Comparable to some of my favorite bass recordings. ...The vibe is perfect. Thank you to the team at Lollar! STOKED!

I purchased the Precision 90 in early February 2020. I'd like to first tip my hat to the company for their work and their easy purchasing experience. As for the Precision 90 itself, it's an entirely different animal to my ears and to my fingers than the other P-Bass Pickups I own and have played through ('63 Pure Vintage, '62 MIJ reissue ca. 1998, 2019 Player Series). The Precision 90 has more of everything. It can be extremely bright with new strings on it, so if you're looking for bright but also powerful as heck, this is your pickup. Once your strings mellow out (given you have good tone woods on your bass) you will notice an amazingly complex and rich midrange complex come rushing out of this pickup, with a very powerful and present fundamental/low end. I use this bass in a Stones/Eagles type band, as well as a Rage type punk band. It does both, and it sounds amazing in both. I regret nothing. The end.
