Product Details
Our Regal™ captures the original tone and wide frequency range of the ’72 Tele® Deluxe pickups—but with some noted improvements to the volume and tonal balance between the neck and bridge pickups. It has has the same footprint as the original wide range pickups*. We offer a Low Wind version of our Regal™ neck pickup with a tight, percussive low end that pairs well with single coil bridge pickups. Rout dimensions: 3.125" x 1.75".
Avg. DC: Neck 10.7K, Bridge 10.7K (Read about DC resistance)
Recommended Capacitor: 0.022μF
Recommended Potentiometers: 500k or 1meg
1meg pots will give you a brighter overall tone than 500k pots, but either will work. It's simply a matter of preference.
Low Wind Neck—A lower output version of our standard Regal™ neck pickup, the low wind version has a tighter low end with added sparkle on top. It's an excellent choice for pairing with lower output bridge pickups (such as our Lollar Alnico 3 Tele Bridge Pickup or Lollar '52 T Series® Bridge Pickup) or to add extra clarity and articulation to the neck position. Available in chrome, nickel, or gold covers (gold pole pieces not available).

*Please note: The Regal™ is the same size as Fender's Wide Range humbucker pickups. It's larger than a standard (PAF-size) humbucker and uses a different mounting pattern, so it will not fit into a standard humbucker rout, and won't work with standard humbucker mounting rings.

Regal Low Wind was the missing link to my CS Tele Custom!

I recently bought a new 70's style Fender Custom Shop Telecaster Custom.
A wide range Humbucker at the neck and regular single coil Tele pickup at the bridge. It sounded really good, but when I added some again to the mix, the neck pickup was too muddy. The Regal Low Wind did the trick and now my Tele Custom is one of my favorite tools!
Been using Lollar for many years and this one does not disappoint! Thanks guys!

I installed these in my new Warmoth '72 Thinline build with a swamp ash body and birdseye maple neck. They're everything that I could ask for - For neck pickup, dial the tone control below 4, and you're in smooth jazz territory. The neck and bridge setting with the tone control up offers a balanced sound for rhythm and funk. The bridge setting will rock hard with distortion, or twang loud and clear when clean. Extremely touch sensitive. If you have a Tele '72 Thinline RI or a Deluxe and your current pups aren't great, just get a set of these. Not cheap, but absolutely worth the money.

I have Lollars in 3 Fenders. Specials in an MIM strat, jags in the CIJ thinline jaguar, and these in the MIM 72 Deluxe. This is the #1. Rich clean loud articulate. Everything. I would not replace them with Seth Lover originals. They sound amazing. More like a human voice than any other electric guitar I've worked with. Great in delays. So much output. It's true. If you're using modern Fender WRHBs you're doing it wrong.

I had these pickups (both standard wound) installed in my RI tele deluxe 3 years ago, along with 1M pots and .022 caps, and I couldn't be happier with the fantastic response of these pickups. Full of spank and sparkle, but also powerful and capable of either calm woody tones or complete metal anger.
I expected a good, distinct pickup that would improve the tone of my guitar. What I didn't expect was how versatile they are. These pickups transformed my instrument, and I'm ever so grateful.

I bought these pickups for my 2011 American vintage reissue '72 Tele Thinline a few years ago. Unlike many, I actually like the CBS era Fender guitars a lot. Their build quality was indeed hit or miss, but (ARGUABLE OPINION) it was an era when Fender put out some of their best designs. Their collaboration with Seth Lover to design the original wide range humbucker is one of those designs. Unfortunately for me, the pickups that Fender put in my 2011 Thinline did not match that tonal standard.
That's why these pickups are a MUST for anyone looking to build or upgrade their 70's era reissue Fender guitar! The first thing you will notice about the Lollar regal humbuckers is how loud they are. These things have an impressive amount of output! Next, you will notice how warm and ballanced the pickups are. In some ways the Lollar Regals sound like the single coil pickups of my dreams sound. They have a very even sound across the whole frequency spectrum. Another thing I like about them is because they have such a loud output they can be played very musically. Aggressive playing is rewarded when sent into a dynamic tube amp on the edge of overdriving. Backing off with your right hand brings back the sweet clean tones-even with your gain pedals on!
I can't say enough about the quality of these pickups! Worth every penny. If you have a Thinline Tele and you don't have these pickups, you are doing it wrong (TRUE FACT).

I was blown away by the quality of this product. After putting them in my Tele, it is a different animal altogether. It now produces the sounds I always wanted it to, that the Fender WRHB could not. Outstanding tone even at high output, with a clarity that is still amazing me.

I popped a set of these glorious pickups into a Fender American Vintage Reissue 72 Thinline - Fender did a FSR limited run about 2013. The guitar was great but the original pickups were awful. I guess because they are such a specialty pickup - different size - different magnet composition - the Fender pickups were just their regular humbuckers stuck in an oversized metal housing, and they sounded really bad. At the time I believe Lollar was the only one with a replacement set. The guitar was too great to not take all the way so I scored a set and now this Thinline is my number two guitar! (I have way too many, so jumping to number two is cool. And number one is a killer vintage American Telecaster.) Thanks for going through the trouble to retool and make these replacements. They sound great. Very touch sensitive and they have a great bloom.
