The correct horseshoe for anyone trying to sound like Chris Squire
Daniel Clark
Location: Carlton, Oregon

This pickup has the sound that Rickenbacker had in the 60's with their original true horseshoe pickup. There is a distortion with this pickup where if you play really hard behind the bridge you will get a wonderful fuzzy sound that emulates what you hear on Roundabout. I haven't heard any other new market horseshoes that have this sound. Rickenbacker should be making this, but they aren't. The Rickenbacker "horseshoe" only looks like a vintage one, but sounds nothing like it. I think all Rics need this pickup period. This is THE sound for your Ric. I have it on a 2020 model 4003S with a Rickenbacker toaster and it sounds amazing.

Horseshoe for bass

This is the real horseshoe. Period!
If you're looking for the real horseshoe for your Rickenbacker bass, this is it.
If you want those creamy overtones don't look any further.
A bit expensive especially when import taxes come in but there's no substitute.
