The Lollar Bass VI pickups are designed to make one of Fender’s most unique instruments more usable for a wider range of playing styles. Through meticulous development, top shelf materials, and tight tolerances we’ve managed to take the Bass VI platform to the next level, offering improved balance, broader and fuller EQ, and increased punchiness. Compared to the stock pickups, the Lollar Bass VI pickups also offer increased harmonics and dynamics for more expressive playing. The three-piece set offers distinct benefits from one position to the next to give you a huge selection of great sounds – 14 options in all. The neck and middle deliver traditional bass-like sounds that are great for standard bassline work and holding down the low end in a full mix. The bridge position is tighter and more percussive, similar to the sound of a baritone guitar – great for playing chords and “spaghetti western” styles – while still sitting in fundamental frequency range of a typical bass guitar. NOTE: 250k potentiometers and 0.047μF caps are the most commonly used components for Bass VI pickups.

Takes the Fender Pawnshop Bass VI to another level.

This is my third set of Lollar Bass VI pickups. This time for Fender's Pawnshop VI model. Lollar custom wound their Blademaster pickup to suit my application as the Pawnshop VI is routed for a Jazzmaster in the bridge position. Couldn't be happier with this pickup combination. If you are looking to upgrade and actually transform your Bass VI instrument, I don't think you can do better than these Lollar pickups.

I installed these in my second bass VI, and everything I said about the pickups in my first review still stands. In addition, the Strangle Switch Circuit is now useable and gives some great Fender guitar tones with chords played in the upper registers. The Neck/Bridge pickup combination is also now useable. (I never liked that combo with the Fender pickups.) These pickups also respond nicely to the special taper Volume and Tone pots I have installed.

I own two Fender Bass VI and tried these Lollar pickups in one of them. Let me just say that I will be ordering a second set. Huge improvement in Bass response, and well balanced in the Mid and Treble frequencies. Excellent balance between pickups as well and now all pickup combinations are useable. Output is on par with Fender vintage pickups and slightly less than the Fender hot Jaguar pickups that I was using. Easily compensated for with a little bit of gain boost at the amp. Superb note definition and clarity when playing double stops, triads and chords. A lot of new sonic ground to explore.
